Program Description

Event Details

Jane Austen is famous for her bold heroines and romantic plots, but her works also include sharp critiques of English society.  Why do we still find her works so compelling today?  Join us for a discussion of Austen's novels and how she expressed her struggles in her writing.  You might find the challenges she faced to be surprisingly familiar.  You don't need to have read Austen's works to participate just come with a curious mind.

This program is designed primarily for adults; however teens age 15 and up are also welcome to attend. Space is limited and registration is required.

Note: The program will be hosted in Zoom, a video conference software that is free for participants. Zoom meeting details will be sent to registrants the day before the program. The Zoom video conference is considered a virtual Library facility. Participants must adhere to the Library Facility Guidelines while attending.
