Have you ever noticed the birds in the pond next to the library or in the canal along Heartz Road? There are over a dozen different species of waterfowl, wading bird, and songbird that can be observed around the library during winter. Learn to recognize several different migratory species, in addition to year round bird residents, in this introduction to urban birding. You don't even need binoculars to observe most of the birds that use the waterways around Coppell! A copy of the slides will be provided after the program so that you can practice identifying species on your own. While this program is designed primarily for adults, children age 10 and up are welcome to join.
If conditions permit, there will be guided walks in November, December, and January to accompany this program. Registration is not required for the talk, however you must register for the guided walks.
