Program Description

Event Details

Artists from the Denton-based creative collective, Spiderweb Salon, will lead a workshop about zine culture and zines.

Zine is an abbreviation of magazine. Zines are independently published and distributed works of writing and/or art. Merriam-Webster's dictionary defines zines as "a noncommercial often homemade or online publication usually devoted to specialized and often unconventional subject matter".

During the workshop, Spiderfriends will guide teens through making a zine and help them create their own from start to finish. Attendees will leave with 15 copies of their original zine and a copy of Spiderweb Salon's zine "How to Make a Zine".
